Owner CardOwner Card information is generated from data maintained by the Property Assessor Mapping Department. The Property Assessor enters information after the property has been transferred and recorded at the Register of Deeds. The Register of Deeds is the source for legal deed information, but the Owner Card is commonly used for property owner history. The Owner Card has five sections that will be referred to as blocks. Plat Block AcreageAcreage - is the acreage of the parcel from the deed or it may be system calculated. The calculated acreage is usually only entered for parcels greater than one acre. The deeded acreage is entered if the acreage is on the deed and the area is greater than an acre. The calculated and deeded acreage can be different since the deed can be disputed and the calculated is from the property assessor maps, but the property is taxed at the calculated acreage. Property can be transfered by deed without a survey. |
