Frequently Asked Questions

Locate By Control Point
Locate by Control Point allows you to enter a City Control Station ID and get the information about the control point as well as locate it on the map.  However, if the monument has been destroyed, only the control station information will be displayed.  It will not be located on the map.

Locate By Address
Locate by Address allows you to enter a house number and street name and locate it on the map.  For the best results, enter the street name without the street type (e.g. use MAIN not MAIN ST).  To see all addresses on a street, do not enter the house number.  However, the search results are limited to 400 addresses so streets like Kingston Pike, which has 2000+ addresses, will not display all addresses.

Locate By Intersection
This will allow you to find intersecting streets. Enter steet names without the street type (e.g. enter "MAIN" not "MAIN ST"). The query will do some "fuzzy" matching on the street name and try to find the correct streets. For example: you can enter "EMERY" and "I75" for you streets. The search will find the intersection of "EMORY RD" and "I75", even though Emory Rd was misspelled.

Search by Parcel
Search by Parcel allows you to enter a Parcel ID and locate it on the map. Parcel IDs must conform to the following format CCCIGPPPSSL where:
  • CCC = CLT Map #
  • I = Insert
  • G = Group
  • PPP= Parcel Number
  • SS = Parcel Number SubUnit, if applicable.
  • L = Condo Letter, if applicable.

  • The CLT Map number and Parcel Number are represented by three digits.  Therefore, you must enter the leading zeros (e.g. Use 001 or 047, not 1 or 47).

Not all parcels have an Insert and Group value.  Therefore, you must enter a space for these fields if the parcel does not have an Insert or Group.

Some parcels have subunit numbers.  For example, if parcel 27 is split into 4 new parcels they will be numbered 27.01, 27.02, 27.03, and 27.04.  Subunit numbers should be entered without the decimal (e.g. use 00101 or 02701, not 1.01 or 27.01)

Below is a list of example Parcel IDs:
    094LE041 Typical Parcel ID
030  211 Parcel ID without Insert or Group
093HG00601 Typical Parcel ID with subunits
