KGIS welcomes another new member to its Policy Board - KUB's President / CEO Gabriel Bolas! Mr. Bolas becomes only the fourth Knoxville Utilities Board leader to serve on the Board of KGIS since it was founded 33 years ago. KUB General Manager Ed Hoskins helped to establish KGIS in 1985. He was followed by Mr. Larry Fleming in 1993, and Ms. Mintha Roach in 2004. Mr. Bolas replaced the retiring Ms. Roach at the October 2018 KUB board meeting. (Click here for more information). KGIS welcomes its new Policy Board member - Knox County Mayor Glenn Jacobs! Mayor Jacobs becomes the fifth Knox County leader to serve on the Board of KGIS since it was founded 33 years ago. Knox County Executive Dwight Kessel helped to establish KGIS in 1985. He was then succeeded by Executive Tommy Schumpert, then Mayor Mike Ragsdale and then most recently by Mayor Tim Burchett. On behalf of KGIS, the Purchasing Division of Knox County TN has posted a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for the capture, processing, and / or update of digital aerial orthophotography, LiDAR, hydrography, breaklines, spot elevations and contours for all of Knox County and optionally the KUB extended service area. The 3rd Quarter KGIS Policy Board Meeting, which had been scheduled for Aug. 21st, 2015, has been canceled. [The Policy Board has a policy of canceling those quarterly meetings when there are no actions to be taken.] The next regularly scheduled meeting of the Board is set for Friday, November 20th , 2015 at 1:30 p.m.
